Rate: £31.33 per hour PAYE / £39.99 per hour Umbrella

About the Role

A local authority in Maidenhead is seeking an experienced Housing & Public Protection Business Improvement Manager to join their team on an interim basis. This is a key leadership position responsible for driving service improvement, managing operational support functions, and delivering transformation across Housing and Public Protection services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the Housing & Public Protection business support function, including:

    • Business support team
    • Analysts
    • Housing complaints and review officer
  • Take accountability for service performance, ensuring delivery against key objectives and standards.

  • Lead and oversee transformation and improvement projects, ensuring timely delivery and measurable outcomes.

  • Support the strategic leadership and operational delivery of Housing and Public Protection services.

  • Act as a key member of the management team, contributing to service planning, performance, and decision-making.

  • Provide direct support to the Assistant Director for Housing and Public Protection, including:

    • Project delivery
    • Operational improvements
    • Service development

About You

We are looking for a proactive and experienced professional with:

  • Strong leadership experience within local authority, housing, or public protection services
  • Proven ability to manage multidisciplinary teams
  • Demonstrable experience in business improvement and transformation projects
  • Excellent organisational, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Experience managing complaints, performance, or operational support functions within a public service environment

Working Arrangements

  • Hybrid working model (combination of office-based in Maidenhead and remote working)
  • Immediate start required
