Your New Role

  • Lead Value Chain Optimisation projects across the year, ensuring delivery from start to finish.
  • Support the Project Director in achieving ambitious cost reduction targets.
  • Drive cost saving initiatives across the business and within the supply base – identifying opportunities and converting them into impact.
  • Manage and foster the development of Buying Analysts / direct reports.
  • Prepare and hold supplier workshops to identify collaborative cost saving initiatives, align priorities, and agree actions (this includes regular travel across the UK and EU)
  • Take full ownership for projects, owning timelines, deliverables, risks and outcomes.
  • Produce timely and accurate business proposals, plans and recommendations to enable targets to be met, and to make further decisions based on key drivers.
  • Identify, assess, and monitor additional information/data which could be used in decision making.

About You

  • Substantial retail buying, manufacturing or retail consultancy experience.
  • Substantial management experience.
  • A self-starter who stays productive with minimal direction, keeping momentum and delivery strong.
  • An influential, natural leader who is keen to take responsibility and drive outcomes.
  • Dynamic, diligent and consistent – steady in delivery and clear on priorities.
  • Motivated and driven leader with a record of developing high performing teams.
  • Demonstrated high levels of commercial acumen and understanding of project management principles.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing strategic stakeholder relationships and negotiations.
  • Able to display an analytical mind-set and a high degree of numerical aptitude.
  • Strong problem-solving capabilities with an ability to summarise qualitative and quantitative insights to inform key decisions.
  • Understand strategic sourcing levers and indicators of potential opportunities.
  • Understand commercial trade-offs across service, capacity, cost, and risk.
  • Experience managing simultaneous projects and deadlines, demonstrating excellent organisation skills.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent visual design sense regarding clear and accurate presentation of data.
  • Driver licence required.

What You’ll get in Return

  • Salary up to £98,050 per year.
  • Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm, with the opportunity of remote working up to 2 days per week, 1 day from January 2027.
