The role

We’re working with a welcoming school in Romford that’s on the lookout for a full-time Learning Support Assistant to support pupils with Special Educational Needs. You’ll be working closely with children who need a bit of extra guidance, patience, and encouragement to help them thrive in the classroom.

No two days are the same, but one thing’s certain, you’ll be making a real difference.

What you’ll be doing

• Providing 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEN
• Helping children stay engaged, focused, and confident in their learning
• Supporting emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies
• Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO
• Creating a calm, structured, and supportive environment

What we’re looking for

• Experience working with children or young people with SEN (school, care, or similar)
• A calm, patient, and positive approach
• Someone who builds trust easily and brings a steady presence to the classroom
• Strong communication skills and a team-player mindset
• A genuine passion for supporting young people

Bonus points if you have:

• Experience with autism, ADHD, or SEMH needs
• Any relevant qualifications in education or care

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
