Project Support Officer (Children’s)

Rate: £300 per day (Inside IR35)

Duration: 3 months initially

Working pattern: Remote / flexible hybrid

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Project Support Officer to support delivery across a Children’s Services transformation programme.

This role will play a key part in ensuring effective project coordination, governance and delivery support, working across multiple workstreams within a fast-paced programme environment.

Key Responsibilities

Project Coordination & Governance

  • Organise and coordinate project meetings, workshops and steering groups
  • Prepare agendas, take accurate minutes, track actions and ensure follow-ups
  • Support the production of highlight reports, dashboards and programme updates

Data & Analysis Support

  • Collate, monitor and track data across multiple workstreams
  • Work with Finance and Analysis & Insight teams to support benefit realisation
  • Maintain and update trackers for placements, costs, milestones and KPIs

Documentation & Communication

  • Draft and format project documentation, reports and presentations
  • Support internal communications and stakeholder engagement
  • Produce concise summaries and updates across programme activity

Planning & Delivery Support

  • Assist with process mapping and workshop delivery alongside Business Analysts
  • Maintain project plans and delivery trackers
  • Support coordination of transformation activities across the programme

Team & Programme Support

  • Provide flexible support across multiple projects and priorities
  • Work collaboratively to maintain pace, consistency and quality of delivery
  • Contribute to a solution-focused, high-performing team environment

Key Requirements

  • Experience working in a Project Support / PMO role, ideally within Children’s Services
  • Strong understanding of project governance, reporting and coordination
  • Experience supporting transformation or change programmes
  • Strong data handling and tracker/reporting experience
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary environment
