We’re working with a major, purpose-led organisation to appoint a Internal Auditor into a key position within their assurance function. The role:

You’ll lead a portfolio of internal audit activity, delivering high-quality reviews while acting as a trusted advisor across the organisation. Responsibilities include:

• Leading end-to-end audit assignments, from planning through to reporting
• Providing practical, value-adding recommendations to improve risk and control frameworks
• Engaging with stakeholders to drive real, measurable change
• Supporting wider assurance, governance, and risk initiatives
• Contributing to the development of audit methodology and best practice

This is not a box-ticking role - you’ll be encouraged to think commercially, challenge constructively, and add genuine value.

About you:

• Professionally qualified (ACA / ACCA / CMIIA or equivalent)
• Proven experience within internal audit or a related assurance function
• Strong communication skills with the confidence to influence senior stakeholders
• Experience within the public sector or local government / council
