Graduate Communications Assistant - Full Time, Office Based - Membership Organisation - Central London, NW1 - £28-£30k

We are on the hunt for a Graduate, with a degree in Journalism, PR, English or similar, to join a national membership organisation as their Communications Assistant.

This early career Communications Assistant position will help support the organisation’s messaging to the media and public.

Suitable candidates will have strong writing, editing and proofreading skills, will ideally be familiar with media monitoring tools (or be willing to learn) and have experience of using digital platforms and social media (even if whilst studying).

The role:

This is an early career opportunity, working Monday to Friday in the company’s offices in Central London; a competitive salary, company pension and private medical insurance is on offer.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Acting as a first point of contact for press contacts
• Creating / updating website content
• Assisting with the creation of company newsletters
• Managing social media platforms, creating posts and responding to comments/queries
• Monitoring press and online platforms
• Assisting with events

What we’re looking for:

• Degree in Journalism, PR, English or a related field
• Excellent writing and editing skills together with accurate proofreading
• Ability to produce content under tight deadlines
• Ability to build and maintain relationships with journalists, media contacts and stakeholders
• Confident and professional communication and interpersonal skills
• Knowledge and understanding of media monitoring tools and the ability to analyse and report on media coverage is highly advantageous
• Experience in using digital platforms and social media
