Family Law Solicitor - Senior Associate

  • Annual Salary: Commensurate with experience
  • Location: Edinburgh (Flexible working available)
  • Job Type: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week (Part-time considered)

Join a long-established legal practice in central Edinburgh, specialising in family law, personal law, and residential conveyancing. This role is ideal for a professional with a minimum of 8 years' post-qualifying experience, offering the chance to manage a diverse caseload with minimal supervision and contribute significantly to the growth of the expanding department.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

  • Manage a comprehensive caseload in family law, focusing on financial provision in medium to high net worth and/or complicated cases.
  • Provide high-quality, timely, and accurate legal services to clients.
  • Develop the family law department and promote the services of the business.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to the ethical standards of Scottish solicitors.
  • Engage directly with clients, ensuring their interests are prioritized and delivering sound advice confidently and professionally.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Extensive experience in family law, ideally accredited by the LSS as a specialist, or willing to gain accreditation quickly.
  • Ability to work independently and maintain high standards of professionalism.
  • Strong communication skills and experience in client-facing roles.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, basic Excel, email, and familiarity with court procedures.
  • Driving licence.
