Export Packing Operative / Wooden Case Maker – Broughton Astley, Leicester

People Solutions are currently recruiting for an Export Packing Operative / Wooden Case Maker to join our well-established client based in Broughton Astley, Leicester on a full-time, permanent basis.

This is an excellent opportunity offering long-term stability, full training, and the chance to join a busy and growing warehouse and cargo handling team.

The successful candidate will be hands-on and comfortable working within a fast-paced warehouse environment, specialising in export packing and wooden case manufacturing.
This role would suit someone with previous experience as a Shipping & Packaging Operative, Goods Out Operative, or Dispatch Operative.

Please note: candidates must be able to pass a DBS check and provide a five-year employment and address history.

Shifts:

• Monday to Friday
• 37.5 hours per week

Salary:

• £28,000 – £32,000 per annum (depending on experience)

Day-to-Day Duties:

Your duties as an Export Packing Operative / Wooden Case Maker will be:

• Manufacturing wooden export cases and crates
• Packing goods securely for export shipment
• Loading and unloading heavy goods
• Using woodworking tools and machinery (including saws and nail guns)
• Working from measurements and packing specifications
• Following all health and safety procedures
• Working closely with the Export Packing Manager and Operations team
• Ensuring work is completed accurately and within deadlines

Essential Skills:

The skills required to be an Export Packing Operative / Wooden Case Maker will be:

• Previous warehouse, manufacturing, or woodworking experience
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy with measurements
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling
• Flexible and reliable approach to work
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
• Professional attitude at all times
• Must undergo a DBS check and provide a five-year employment and address history

Desirable Experience:

• Previous export packing or case making experience
• Experience using woodworking machinery
• Experience using saws and nail guns
• FLT Licence

Training:

• Full industry-related training and ongoing support provided
