SHEQ Manager

Walker Cole International is partnered with a long-established UK chemical manufacturer in the search for a SHEQ Manager.

This is a key leadership role within a CoMAH manufacturing site, responsible for leading the Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality functions, while driving compliance, operational performance, and SHEQ culture across the business.

Key responsibilities:

• Lead the SHEQ, QC, and QA functions across a high-hazard manufacturing environment, ensuring compliance with CoMAH regulations, ISO9001, ISO14001, and wider regulatory standards while driving continuous improvement initiatives across site operations.
• Act as the primary contact for external audits, regulatory inspections, and interventions, maintaining strong relationships with the HSE, Environment Agency, customers, and other external bodies.
• Develop and continuously improve SHEQ management systems, procedures, risk assessments, incident investigations, root cause analysis activities, and CAPAs across the manufacturing operation.

Skills and experience:

• Significant SHEQ management experience gained within manufacturing, ideally within chemical, high-hazard, or COMAH-regulated environments.
• Strong understanding of SHE legislation, ISO standards, auditing, incident investigation, and risk management systems.
• Previous leadership experience managing multidisciplinary SHEQ teams within an industrial manufacturing setting.
