People Solutions are currently recruiting for an HGV Class 1 Shunter Driver - Filton, Bristol to join our well-established client based in Filton, Bristol.

This is a fantastic opportunity offering excellent rates of pay, stable weekday shifts, ongoing reliable work, and genuine long-term opportunities within a busy logistics environment.

This role would also suit candidates who have previously worked as an LGV Class 1 Driver, Yard Shunter Driver, CE Driver, Yard Driver, HGV Driver, or Class 1 Yard Operative.

Shifts

• Monday to Thursday - 07:00am - 16:00pm
• Friday - 07:00am - 12:00pm
• Early finish every Friday
• Monday to Friday working pattern
• No weekend working

Rates of Pay

• £18.47 per hour
• Weekly Pay

Day-to-Day Duties

As an HGV Class 1 Shunter Driver, your duties will include (but are not limited to):

• Completing yard shunting duties around site
• Operating and manoeuvring Category CE vehicles safely and efficiently within the yard environment
• Moving trailers safely between loading bays and designated yard locations
• Completing daily vehicle and yard safety checks in line with site procedures
• Ensuring all trailers and loads are positioned and secured correctly
• Following all health and safety procedures, site regulations, and transport rules
• Communicating effectively with transport and warehouse teams using radios and internal systems
• Reporting any vehicle defects or maintenance issues promptly
• Supporting the smooth flow of transport operations across the site

Essential Skills

To be successful as an HGV Class 1 Shunter Driver, you will need:

• A minimum of one year's experience driving Category CE vehicles
• A valid UK Category CE Driving Licence
• No more than six penalty points for minor infringements
• No major endorsement codes
• A valid CPC Card and Digital Tachograph Card
• Excellent punctuality and timekeeping skills
• A good understanding of UK traffic laws and transport regulations
• Strong communication skills
• The ability to work effectively within a busy yard environment
