Credit Controller (with Litigation Exposure)

Are you an experienced Credit Controller who’s confident managing complex accounts and comfortable working alongside legal teams? We’re supporting a well-established Leicester-based business looking for an immediately available professional to step into a fast-paced environment and make an immediate impact.

The Opportunity

This is a hands-on, end-to-end credit control role with a strong focus on reducing aged debt and managing more complex, escalated accounts – including those requiring legal or litigation support. You’ll join a supportive finance team operating in a hybrid model, giving you both flexibility and collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

• Proactively manage a ledger of customer accounts
• Reduce aged debt through effective collection strategies
• Handle escalated and high-risk accounts
• Liaise with legal teams and external solicitors on litigation cases
• Prepare documentation to support legal recovery processes
• Negotiate repayment plans and settlements
• Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and customers
• Maintain accurate records and reporting on debtor status

About You

• Proven experience in Credit Control within a commercial setting
• Exposure to litigation processes or working alongside legal teams 
• Strong negotiation and communication skills
• Confident dealing with difficult or sensitive conversations
• Immediately available or able to start at short notice
• Comfortable working in a hybrid environment
