Major Donor Executive

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Major Donor Executive to join a well-established and respected national charity based in London. This role is central to the success of the organisation’s high-value fundraising programme and plays a vital part in developing, stewarding, and growing relationships with major and high net worth supporters.

You will work closely with senior fundraising colleagues to deliver income targets, manage donor engagement activity, and build a strong pipeline of current and prospective supporters. The role offers exposure to senior stakeholders, an established events programme, and the chance to make a meaningful impact by securing funding that directly supports beneficiaries.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support delivery of the major donor fundraising strategy, engagement plans, and income targets
  • Identify, research, and engage current and prospective major donors, building and managing a strong pipeline
  • Steward relationships with existing supporters through tailored communications, reporting, meetings, and events
  • Produce compelling, personalised proposals, applications, pitches, and impact reports
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams (including regional fundraising, grants, finance, communications, and senior leadership) to maximise supporter engagement
  • Confidently represent the organisation when meeting, presenting to, or corresponding with senior and high net worth individuals
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of cultivation and stewardship plans, including senior engagement where appropriate
  • Ensure accurate management of donor data, research, due diligence, income batching, and reporting using CRM systems (e.g. Salesforce)
  • Track supporter engagement and progression through the fundraising pipeline with strong attention to detail and data protection compliance
  • Provide regular internal updates on progress, activity, and reporting outcomes
  • Assist with broader cross-team fundraising projects and organisational events as required
Ideal Candidate Profile:
  • Experience in major donor fundraising, high-value fundraising, relationship management, or a comparable client-facing/sales environment
  • Confident engaging with and influencing senior stakeholders and high net worth individuals
  • Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to tailor tone and messaging for different audiences
  • Strong organisational skills with a systematic, detail-focused approach to work
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and work proactively with minimal supervision
  • Comfortable using CRM systems (ideally Salesforce) and Microsoft Office tools
  • Ability to research effectively and think creatively about donor engagement and stewardship
  • High level of professionalism, discretion, and understanding of data protection principles
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively across teams
  • Proactive, self-motivated, and solution-focused
  • Empathy with charitable causes and a genuine desire to make a positive impact

Location: London

Working Pattern: Hybrid, 2 day on-site

Hours: Full-time, 35 hours per week

Salary: £38,000 - £39,000
