Assistant Accountant

£34,000 - £37,000 annually (depending on experience)

Full-time, Monday to Friday, 08:00 – 16:30

Reed is working with a well-established and highly successful production business in Glasgow to recruit an Assistant Accountant.

Operating at national scale and recognised as a leader within its sector, the role grants strong exposure across both financial and management accounting, with genuine scope for development.

The main responsibilities of this role are:

• Supporting the preparation of monthly financial and management accounts 
• Assisting with site performance reporting e.g. labour and materials
• Managing GRNI accruals and preparing and posting journals as required
• Reconciling inter-company accounts
• Overseeing Accounts Payables and Accounts Receivables teams, providing cover where necessary for transactional duties
• Attending retail and management meetings
• Liaising with stakeholders across finance and operational teams

To succeed in this role, you will need:

• Previous experience in an accounts role, with exposure to monthly reporting duties
• To be working towards a professional qualification
• Proficiency in accounting software, as well as strong excel skills (VLOOKUPs and Pivots)
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
