Elevation Recruitment Group are delighted with a well established and successful Manufacturing business in Barnsley as they look to recruit a Financial Controller to manage two of their specialist divisions. 

The purpose of the role is to provide financial support to the businesses and to professionally manage the finance function and to give an effective service to both internal and external parties. The role will ensure that the goals of the businesses are met in accordance with agreed budgets, objectives, standards and practices.

It will be a varied role with duties to include:- 

  • Overseeing a small finance team including setting targets, promoting development and mentorship
  • Management of the accounts preparation for 2 divisions
  • Preparation of consolidated accounts for review
  • Balance sheet review and reconciliation
  • Review of key reports for Plc board pack
  • Assist with Divisional annual budgeting process
  • Fixed Assets
  • Review of Capex report for board pack
  • Cashflow forecasting daily, weekly, monthly
  • Monthly accrual calculation
  • Rebate reconciliation for Bank Submission
  • Turnover reports for customers
  • Payment creation/ Invoice / Debit note approval
  • Promotional Fund Management
  • Online banking system administration
  • Managing cash position
  • Creating and approving electronic payments
  • Overall banking and cash reconciliations management
  • Ensure effective operation of the invoice discounting facility and minimise cost of banking facilities
  • Review of completed Intrastat returns
  • Review of VAT reconciliations, returns and preparation of payments
  • Review of completed National Statistics returns
  • Assistance in preparation of Annual Statutory Accounts and liaison with external auditors
  • Maintenance and development of financial controls and procedures and ensuring compliance from all divisions
  • Assist in identifying finance and other system improvements and working with the team to progress any planned improvements

To be successful, you will have the following skills and experiences: - 

  • CIMA/ ACCA/ ACA Qualified 
  • Previous experience in manufacturing would be advantageous 
  • Ambitious and driven with a desire to progress 
  • 3-5 years experience in Management Accounting
  • Leadership skills 
  • Good finance business partner
