The OpportunityPosition: Accounts Assistant
Location: Office-based in a North East location with free parking and good transport links
Salary: £ per annum dependant on experience
Contract: Permanent (open to full or part-time hours)
We’re working with a values-driven organisation that exists to make a genuine difference as they look to recruit an Accounts Assistant who enjoys being hands-on, working closely with a variety of smaller clients, and contributing positively to a supportive, collaborative team.
This role is fully office-based to enable training, collaboration and knowledge-sharing.
Key ResponsibilitiesThe successful candidate will play a key role in strengthening delivery capacity, with responsibilities including:
- Preparation of year-end accounts.
- Provide financial advice and guidance to clients, many of whom have limited business experience.
- Collaborate with the internal team to manage deadlines and maintain compliance.
- Use accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, and TaxCalc.
- Support process improvements and adoption of new technology.
This is a practical role for someone who enjoys doing the work, not just reviewing it.
About youWe’re open to a range of backgrounds, but you’ll likely bring:
- Strong bookkeeping fundamentals
- Experience using Xero and/or QuickBooks
- Familiarity with accounts and tax software (e.g. TaxCalc or similar)
- Confidence working across multiple deadlines and clients
- A collaborative, patient and down-to-earth approach
