We are working with a small, friendly, and growing business based in Hitchin, looking for a reliable and detail-focused Accounts Assistant to support our day-to-day financial operations. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys a varied accounts role and is looking for part-time, flexible work within a supportive environment.

Role Overview: We are seeking an organised and experienced Accounts person to manage our bookkeeping, payroll, banking, and invoicing processes. You will play a key role in keeping our financial records accurate and up to date, ensuring smooth operations across the business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process weekly and monthly payroll accurately
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable
  • Raise, send, and track invoices
  • Reconcile bank accounts and maintain financial records
  • Prepare basic financial reports for management
  • Handle expenses, receipts, and supplier payments
  • Support general administrative finance tasks as required

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in an accounts or bookkeeping role
  • Strong understanding of payroll processes
  • Confident with invoicing, banking, and financial administration
  • Good working knowledge of accounting software ideally Sage 200
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage your own workload
  • Friendly, trustworthy, and comfortable working in a small team environment
