We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accountant (Accounts Senior / Accounts Clerk) to join a Medium sized accountancy practice based near Sherborne, Dorset. This role is ideal for a qualified or part-qualified accountant looking to work with a diverse portfolio of clients, including sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies across various sectors.

You will play a key role in delivering high-quality accounting, tax, and advisory services while building strong client relationships.

Accounts Clerk / Accounts Senior 

Salary £28,000 - £40,000 per annum 

Part Time / Full Time 

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare annual accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies
• Complete and submit VAT returns and ensure compliance with HMRC regulations
• Prepare corporation tax computations and personal tax returns
• Assist with bookkeeping and management accounts preparation
• Handle client queries and provide professional advice on financial matters
• Liaise with HMRC on behalf of clients where required
• Support clients with cloud accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks, Sage)
• Review junior staff work (if applicable) and provide guidance
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements
• Identify opportunities to add value and improve client processes
