My client is looking to appoint an accomplished Finance Director to deliver strategic financial leadership across a group of companies. This is a key senior appointment, playing a central role in driving financial sustainability, operational performance, and effective financial support to senior leaders, managers, and key stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead organisation-wide financial planning, reporting, compliance, and the development of financial systems, working closely with the CFOO, CEO, and Board.
  • Contribute significantly to the organisation’s long-term strategy, ensuring financial resources are aligned with wider business objectives.
  • Deliver high-quality financial analysis and modelling to inform and support strategic decisions.
  • Take ownership of budgeting, forecasting, and monthly management reporting.
  • Ensure strong internal controls, compliance standards, and efficient financial processes are maintained.
  • Oversee statutory reporting, audit activity, and organisational risk management.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance team.
  • Support procurement activity, tender processes, and value-for-money initiatives.
  • Establish and maintain strong working relationships with senior leaders, budget holders, auditors, and external partners.

Skills & Experience Required:

  • Fully qualified accountant with extensive experience operating at a senior financial management level.
  • Highly developed analytical and financial modelling skills, with strong attention to detail.
  • Demonstrable experience producing management accounts, budgets, and forecasts.
  • In-depth understanding of financial compliance requirements, audit processes, and relevant regulatory frameworks.
  • Proven leader with the ability to inspire, motivate, and develop a capable finance team.
  • Confident communicator, able to translate financial information for non-finance audiences.
  • Strategic mindset combined with a pragmatic, hands-on approach.
  • High standards of professionalism and integrity, aligned with strong organisational values.
  • Experience within charity, public sector, or complex multi-entity environments is advantageous but not essential.
