Air Freight Import Coordinator

£26,500 – £32,000 (Depending on Experience)

Monday–Friday, 09:00–18:00

We are currently supporting a well-established and expanding freight forwarding organisation in the appointment of an Air Freight Import Coordinator to join their operations team.

This position is suited to an individual with a solid understanding of air import procedures who is looking to further develop their expertise within a fast-paced, detail-driven environment. You will take ownership of shipments from origin through to final delivery, ensuring operational efficiency and a consistently high level of client service.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate international air freight import shipments from booking through to final delivery
• Act as a primary point of contact for clients, overseas agents, and carriers
• Proactively monitor shipment progress, identifying and resolving any operational issues
• Prepare and review shipping documentation in line with regulatory requirements
• Liaise with customs agents to support clearance processes
• Manage job costing, accruals, and invoicing with a high degree of accuracy
• Maintain detailed and up-to-date records within internal systems
• Ensure all activities are completed in accordance with company procedures and compliance standards

Candidate Profile

• Demonstrable experience within air freight imports or freight forwarding operations
• Working knowledge of UK import procedures and customs processes (CDS/CHIEF advantageous)
• Strong organisational capability with the ability to manage multiple shipments concurrently
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• High level of attention to detail and problem-solving ability
• Confident in the use of operational systems and Microsoft Office
• A proactive, professional, and solutions-focused approach
