FP&A Manager

Harper May Ltd

Harper May is partnering with an established financial services business in the City of London that has built a strong position in specialist investment advisory over the past decade. The firm works with a sophisticated UK and international client base, has grown its assets under advice considerably over recent years, and is led by a senior team known for technical depth and quality of judgement. Following sustained commercial momentum and with a clear plan to expand into adjacent products, the business is now strengthening its FP&A capability to bring more rigour to forecasting, deeper performance insight, and sharper support for leadership decisions.

The Role
Reporting to the Head of Finance, the FP&A Manager will own budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting cycles end-to-end. The role partners closely with commercial, operations, and senior leadership, translating numbers into the insight that drives planning conversations. It is a hands-on role with broad visibility across the business and a clear path to wider remit as the function grows.

Key Responsibilities

  • Run the annual budget process and quarterly reforecasts across all business units
  • Deliver monthly performance packs with variance analysis and commentary the executive will actually read
  • Build and maintain the rolling cash-flow and capital forecast
  • Partner with department heads on cost control, headcount planning, and investment cases
  • Develop scenario and sensitivity models to support strategic decisions
  • Improve the underlying planning tools, models, and processes

What we are looking for

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with 4+ years post-qualification experience
  • Prior FP&A experience within financial services or another regulated environment
  • Strong technical skills in Excel modelling; experience with planning tools (Anaplan, Adaptive, or similar) is a plus
  • Clear communicator who can hold their own with senior stakeholders
  • Commercial mindset balanced with attention to detail

Salary: £80,000 - £90,000. London-based, hybrid working. To apply, send your CV via the link below.
