We are currently seeking an enthusiastic Engineering Geologist to join a growing and well-respected ground investigation consultancy working across Essex and the wider South East. Based near Colchester, this role offers the chance to work on a broad range of residential, commercial, and infrastructure projects across the region.

This is an excellent opportunity for a geology graduate or early-career Engineering Geologist looking to gain hands-on experience and progress within a supportive and technically strong team.

The Role
You will play a key role in delivering ground investigation projects across Essex, splitting your time between site and office-based work.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervising ground investigations including trial pits and boreholes
• Logging soils and rocks in accordance with BS5930
• Soil and groundwater sampling and monitoring
• Overseeing drilling contractors on site
• Preparing factual and interpretative reports
• Supporting geotechnical and geoenvironmental assessments
• Maintaining high health & safety standards

Requirements

• Degree in Geology, Engineering Geology, or similar
• 1-4 years' experience in ground investigation
• Strong understanding of site investigation techniques
• Full UK driving licence
• Good communication and report writing skills

Desirable

• Experience working on projects across Essex / South East
• Phase 1 & Phase 2 reporting experience
• Knowledge of contaminated land risk assessments
• Working towards Chartership
