The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering a portfolio of high-profile charity events to the highest standards, working closely with internal teams, senior leadership, trustees and volunteers. A key focus is leading the Annual Dinner for over 600 major donors, a flagship event raising more than £1.6 million and central to donor engagement, retention and income.

Description

  • Oversee the planning, delivery and budget management of the charities's full events portfolio and annual calendar.
  • Line manage the Events Coordinator and Events & Campaigns Administrator, providing leadership and support.
  • Lead the organisation and on-site delivery of events, managing staff, contractors, suppliers and logistics.
  • Take responsibility for the planning and delivery of the flagship Annual Dinner, working closely with senior leadership, trustees, committees, partners and internal teams on all aspects of content, production, security and logistics.
  • Collaborate with Marketing and Communications to develop effective event content, collateral and promotion.
  • Support and guide committee-led and third-party events, including post-event follow-up and evaluation.
  • Jointly manage and deliver US based events in partnership with senior US stakeholders.
  • Oversee key participation events, including the London Marathon, ensuring a high-quality supporter experience.

Profile

A successful Interim Head of Events should have:

  • Proven experience managing large-scale events, ideally within the charity sector.
  • A successful track record of event planning, logistics, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Exceptional organisational and project management skills.
  • Experience line managing a small team.
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Experience working directly with senior stakeholders, trustees, chair etc.

Job Offer

  • Salary: £50,000 per annum.
  • 12 month maternity cover contract.
  • North London based - 2 days per week in the office
