We are currently recruiting enthusiastic and reliable Cover Supervisors to work across our partnership secondary schools in Sheffield on day-to-day, short-term, and long-term assignments.

This is a fantastic opportunity for graduates, aspiring teachers, experienced education professionals, or individuals looking to gain valuable classroom experience within supportive school environments.

The Role

As a Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for supervising classes during the short-term absence of the regular teacher. You will deliver pre-set work, manage classroom behaviour, and ensure students remain engaged in their learning.

Responsibilities

• Supervising whole classes in the absence of a teacher
• Delivering pre-planned lessons and ensuring students stay on task
• Managing classroom behaviour in line with school policies
• Providing support and guidance to students where required
• Reporting back to teaching staff on student progress and behaviour
• Creating a positive and safe learning environment
• Assisting with general school duties when needed

Requirements

• Experience working with young people is desirable
• Strong communication and classroom management skills
• Confident, adaptable, and professional approach
• Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff
• A genuine interest in education
• Degree qualification preferred but not essential
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
