Homelessness Support Worker

We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Homelessness Support Worker to join a fantastic frontline service in Monmouthshire.

This role is often the first point of contact for individuals experiencing crisis. You will provide immediate, trauma-informed support, practical assistance, and emotional reassurance, helping people stabilise their situation and access longer-term support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide timely first-response support to individuals in crisis
  • Carry out needs and risk assessments and develop short-term support plans
  • Offer practical and emotional support in line with trauma-informed practice
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams and external agencies
  • Maintain accurate records and case notes in line with policies and safeguarding requirements
  • Promote dignity, respect, and empowerment at all times.
About You
You will be empathetic, resilient, and calm under pressure, with a genuine passion for supporting people at difficult moments in their lives.

Essential:
  • Experience supporting vulnerable adults (e.g. homelessness, mental health, substance misuse, domestic abuse, or related fields)
  • Ability to manage crisis situations professionally and sensitively
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Understanding of safeguarding and boundaries.
