We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Homelessness Support Worker to join a fantastic frontline service in Monmouthshire.
This role is often the first point of contact for individuals experiencing crisis. You will provide immediate, trauma-informed support, practical assistance, and emotional reassurance, helping people stabilise their situation and access longer-term support.
Key Responsibilities
Provide timely first-response support to individuals in crisis
Carry out needs and risk assessments and develop short-term support plans
Offer practical and emotional support in line with trauma-informed practice
Work collaboratively with internal teams and external agencies
Maintain accurate records and case notes in line with policies and safeguarding requirements
Promote dignity, respect, and empowerment at all times.
About You You will be empathetic, resilient, and calm under pressure, with a genuine passion for supporting people at difficult moments in their lives.
Essential:
Experience supporting vulnerable adults (e.g. homelessness, mental health, substance misuse, domestic abuse, or related fields)
Ability to manage crisis situations professionally and sensitively
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Understanding of safeguarding and boundaries.
