Overview

We are working with a privately owned group seeking an Assistant Financial Accountant to support its Financial Reporting function. The role offers broad exposure across statutory reporting, group accounting, reconciliations, and tax compliance within a multi-entity structure.

This is an excellent opportunity for a part-qualified accountant or experienced finance professional looking to strengthen their technical accounting skill set. It would particularly suit someone currently working in accountancy practice or within a property-related environment who is keen to move into an industry role.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare working papers to support the production of group accounts, in line with IFRS where applicable
  • Assist with the preparation of statutory accounts for multiple entities under UK GAAP
  • Support fund accounting activities and assist with Trust accounts
  • Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations
  • Assist with corporation and personal tax computations
  • Review accounting records on a monthly basis
  • Support management accounting activities, including inter-entity recharges
  • Reconcile intercompany transactions across the group
  • Assist with drafting internal financial reports
  • Support ad-hoc finance projects as required
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures
Candidate Requirements

Essential

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline (or equivalent experience)
  • Solid understanding of core accounting principles
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Experience preparing reconciliations and working with financial data
  • High attention to detail and strong organisational skills

Desirable

  • Part-qualified ACA / ACCA / CIMA / AAT
  • Experience preparing statutory accounts
  • Exposure to UK GAAP and/or IFRS
  • Experience within a multi-entity or group structure
  • Knowledge of corporation tax
  • Background in accountancy practice or property accounting
