Our client, a European bank, is seeking an experienced Rates Trader with a strong focus on Options and Volatility to join its London-based team.

The Role

This is a high-impact front-office position, ideal for a proven trader with deep expertise across rates markets, derivatives, and volatility strategies. The successful candidate will play a key role in driving trading performance, managing risk, and identifying market opportunities across interest rate products.

Key Responsibilities

• Trade rates products with a strong emphasis on options and volatility strategies
• Develop, implement, and manage innovative trading strategies across interest rate derivatives
• Actively monitor global macroeconomic developments and market dynamics to inform trading decisions
• Manage risk exposure and ensure alignment with internal risk frameworks
• Contribute to P&L generation with a focus on consistent performance delivery
• Collaborate with sales, structuring, and risk teams to optimise client and trading outcomes

Requirements

• 8-15 years of experience as a Rates Trader with significant exposure to options and volatility trading
• Strong track record of consistent profitability and disciplined risk management
• Deep understanding of interest rate markets, derivatives pricing, and volatility dynamics
• Strong analytical and quantitative skill set
• Ability to perform in a fast-paced, high-pressure trading environment
• Based in or willing to relocate to London
