Laboratory Technician

Location: Witham, Essex
Salary: Up to £28,000 (including shift allowance)
Shifts: Rotating bi-weekly (6:00am-1:00pm / 1:00pm-8:00pm)

We are recruiting for a Laboratory Technician to join an award-winning organisation within the science and research sector in the Witham area. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with a passion for science who are looking to develop a long-term career in a laboratory environment. Full training will be provided.

Due to the rotating shift pattern, applicants must either hold a full driving licence with access to a vehicle or live locally in Witham with reliable access to work without dependence on public transport.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform analytical testing of samples in accordance with ISO 17025 standards and internal laboratory SOPs
  • Carry out testing tasks as allocated by the Team Leader or Supervisor
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant laboratory records
  • Adhere to all Health & Safety, Risk Assessment, and COSHH procedures
  • Ensure laboratory equipment is maintained and work areas are kept clean, safe, and organised
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and efficiency within the laboratory
Requirements
  • A-Level in a Science subject (or equivalent qualification/experience)
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • Flexible, proactive approach in a fast-paced environment
  • High level of attention to detail and a customer-focused mindset
