Berkshire | 5 Month Contract Initially | £18.00 per hour

An NHS organisation is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support the delivery of a diverse portfolio of estates and capital projects across its healthcare estate.

This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on project management experience across refurbishment, backlog maintenance, and minor works programmes within a complex, multi-site environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Support delivery of estates projects across the full lifecycle (RIBA stages 0–7)
  • Assist with planning, coordination, and day-to-day project management activities
  • Prepare and maintain project documentation (programmes, risk logs, reports)
  • Coordinate meetings, stakeholders, and communications across clinical and operational teams
  • Support business case development and budget monitoring
  • Assist with procurement, contractor coordination, and project handover


Key Requirements

  • Degree (or equivalent experience) in a relevant field
  • Exposure to project management within estates, construction, or healthcare environments
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Understanding of project governance, budgets, and reporting


Desirable

  • Experience within the NHS or public sector
  • Knowledge of estates, facilities or capital projects
  • Project management training or qualifications
