We are recruiting for a Welder Fabricator to join a well-established engineering and manufacturing business based in Braintree. This is a full-time, permanent position offering long-term stability and the opportunity to work on varied, high-quality products.

This role would suit an experienced Welder Fabricator who enjoys hands-on fabrication work, working from drawings, and producing work to a high standard.

About the Role

Working within a skilled fabrication and welding team, you will be involved in the manufacture and assembly of bespoke engineered components and fabricated products, typically of large size. The role is workshop-based and includes a mixture of welding and fabrication duties, working primarily with mild steel and other metals, producing components for a range of industrial and commercial applications.

Key Responsibilities

• MIG welding of fabricated components to a high standard
• Fabrication of metal components and assemblies from engineering drawings
• Cutting, shaping and assembling steel sections and plate
• Ensuring finished products meet quality and specification requirements
• Carrying out visual inspections and basic quality checks
• Maintaining a clean, safe and organised working area
• Working collaboratively with other fabricators and welders within the team

The Ideal Candidate

• Proven experience as a Welder Fabricator
• Confident MIG welding skills
• Ability to read and work from engineering drawings
• Experience fabricating structural and sheet metal components
• Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship
• Reliable, punctual and able to work as part of a team
• Previous workshop-based manufacturing experience
