We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Dietician to join the team on a part time basis. Salary for this role is £50k on a full time basis. However, this role is based on 16 hours per week pro rata £.

Waterloo Manor Hospital is the largest female personality disorder service in the United Kingdom, providing specialized assessment and treatment for women with complex mental health needs.

Job Purpose

  • To assess, diagnose, and manage patients’ nutritional needs, providing evidence-based dietary advice to support recovery, improve health outcomes, and promote overall wellbeing.
  • Clinical Assessment & Care
  • · Assess patients’ nutritional status and dietary needs
  • · Develop and implement personalised nutrition care plans
  • · Monitor and review patient progress, adjusting plans as needed
  • · Provide specialist advice for patients with conditions such as diabetes, obesity, and eating disorders
  • Patient Support & Education
  • · Educate patients, families, and carers on healthy eating and nutrition
  • · Support behaviour change and promote long-term healthy habits
  • · Deliver one-to-one consultations and group education sessions
  • Multidisciplinary Working
  • · Work closely with doctors, nurses, psychologists, and other healthcare professionals
  • · Contribute to patient care plans and clinical reviews
  • · Provide nutritional input during ward rounds and case discussions
  • Documentation & Administration
  • · Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records
  • · Use electronic health systems to document care and outcomes
  • · Prepare reports and contribute to audits or service evaluations
  • Health Promotion
  • · Support public health initiatives and nutritional awareness programmes
  • · Develop resources such as meal plans, leaflets, and guidance materials

Person Specification

  • Essential Qualifications & Skills
  • · Degree in Dietetics or Nutrition
  • · Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council
  • · Strong communication and counselling skills
  • · Ability to interpret clinical data and apply nutritional science
  • · Good organisational and time-management skills
  • Desirable
  • · Experience in a clinical or mental health setting
  • · Knowledge of specialist diets (e.g. enteral feeding, weight management)
  • · Understanding of psychological aspects of eating behaviours
