Part-Time Housekeeper (16-20 hours) - Private Household - Long-Term Role

A lovely informal family household is seeking an experienced and hands on Part Time Housekeeper to support the smooth running of their home. This is a long term position suited to a professional, discreet and proactive candidate who takes pride in maintaining high standards and works well independently.

Working Schedule

• 16 hours per week: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday
• 4 hours per day, starting between 8:00am-9:00am
• Option to increase to 20 hours (5 mornings per week) for a candidate able to assist with cooking/meal preparation

Salary

• £20-23ph self employed DOE

Duties to Include

• Full housekeeping duties: cleaning, tidying and maintaining a high standard throughout a 5 bedroom home
• Laundry, including hand washing and ironing
• Changing bed linen and managing household linens
• Kitchen upkeep and organisation
• Opening blinds/curtains and daily household reset
• Occasional errands (post office, light shopping)
• Dog care (short walk for a very gentle Labradoodle if required)

For 20-hour role:

• Simple, healthy meal preparation and kitchen focused day each week

The Household

• Informal, welcoming family environment
• Three children (older - one at home, others at university/boarding school, returning during holidays)
• Both principals often work from home
• Large, traditional interiors with antiques and artwork, wooden and stone floors

Candidate Requirements

• Previous experience working in a similar private household, ideally within a larger home
• Trustworthy and discreet (key holder)
• Warm, friendly and professional with a calm presence
• Able to work independently, respecting boundaries within a home where principals are often present
• Strong attention to detail and good common sense
• Dog friendly

Additional Information

• Self employed preferred but PAYE considered
• The family are seeking a long term commitment following with a proven track record in longevity with previous employers
• Checkable references and an up to date DBS required.
