We’re currently partnering with a highly respected, long-established music retailer to recruit an experienced Guitar Technician for their busy workshop based in the Guildford area. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a business with a global reputation for quality, working with some of the finest instruments in the industry.

In this role, you’ll be responsible for the setup, inspection, and repair of a wide range of guitars from leading brands, ensuring every instrument meets exceptional standards of playability and craftsmanship. You’ll also have the opportunity to work with advanced technology, including a PLEK machine (full training provided).

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out high-quality servicing and repairs on customer-owned stringed instruments
• Perform professional setups on electric, acoustic, archtop, and bass guitars
• Operate and utilise a PLEK machine for analysis and fretwork
• Liaise with customers to understand repair requirements and ensure expectations are met
• Assess and process returned instruments
• Conduct thorough quality control inspections, identifying and resolving faults where possible
• Collaborate effectively with workshop colleagues and warehouse management

Candidate Profile

• Proven experience in guitar repair/technical work within a professional setting
• Strong working knowledge of guitar setup, maintenance, and repair techniques
• Passionate about guitars, with solid product knowledge across major brands
• Good playing ability and practical understanding of instrument performance
• Strong communication skills with a proactive, team-oriented approach
• Well-organised with effective time management
