Job Title: Building Surveyor
Type: Permanent
Location: Gloucestershire
Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
Hours: Full-time, 37 hours per week
BRC are working closely with a well-established Housing Association based in Gloucestershire to recruit an experienced Building Surveyor to join their property services team.
This role involves managing a varied portfolio of housing stock, ensuring properties are safe, compliant, and well maintained, while delivering high-quality surveying and contract management services.
Duties: - Carry out building surveys, inspections, and condition reports across residential properties
- Manage day-to-day repairs, planned maintenance, and minor works projects
- Prepare specifications, schedules of work, and tender documentation
- Oversee contractors on site, monitoring performance, quality, and compliance
- Ensure all works meet current legislation, health & safety, and housing standards
- Diagnose building defects and recommend appropriate remedial actions
- Manage budgets and ensure value for money is achieved
- Liaise with residents, internal teams, and external stakeholders
Requirements: - Proven experience working as a Building Surveyor, ideally within social housing or local authority
- Relevant qualification in Building Surveying or Construction (HNC/HND/Degree or equivalent)
- Strong knowledge of building regulations, health & safety, and housing legislation
- Experience managing contractors and building works on site
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
