Business Analyst

About the Role

This opportunity sits within the Treasury function of a leading global, multi-strategy hedge fund. The Treasury team covers Collateral Management, Financing, Liquidity Management, Margin, Financing Optimisation, and Counterparty Risk.

The Business Analyst acts as the key link between Treasury and Technology, translating business requirements into clear, structured deliverables that support platform development and enhancement.

The role requires strong domain expertise, rigorous analytical thinking, and ownership of requirements across complex, multi-asset Treasury workflows, working closely with Technology teams to ensure solutions align with business objectives.

Principal Responsibilities

Business Analysis & Requirements

• Partner with Front Office, Treasury, Operations, and Technology teams to understand business needs and produce high-quality requirements documentation
• Translate Treasury workflows and business logic into clear functional and technical specifications for Technology teams
• Conduct in-depth data analysis across asset classes, products, markets, and trading strategies to identify insights, gaps, and improvement opportunities
• Work closely with Technology teams across the development lifecycle, including participation in design reviews, UAT, and production rollout

Continuous Improvement & Collaboration

• Identify and drive improvements across Treasury processes, data quality, and analytical capabilities
• Produce and maintain documentation including requirements, process flows, and user guides
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including Front Office, Treasury, and Technology, to ensure alignment on priorities and delivery
• Communicate effectively with both technical teams and senior stakeholders
• Support project delivery, including scoping, testing coordination, and tracking of key milestones

Qualifications & Skills

Experience

• 3-5 years of Business Analysis experience within financial services
• Experience within Treasury, financing, or margin-related functions at an investment bank, hedge fund, or buy-side firm is preferred
• Proven track record of producing high-quality requirements documentation and working with Technology teams across the SDLC
• Experience working across Front Office, Treasury, and/or Technology teams is essential
• Experience working across multiple teams and business functions

Domain Knowledge

• Good understanding of financial products including Equities, Fixed Income, Futures, OTC Derivatives, and FX, along with associated margin frameworks
• Exposure to cross-product margining, prime brokerage, or financing workflows is advantageous

Technical Skills

• Strong SQL skills, with the ability to query large datasets independently
• Working knowledge of Python for data analysis and automation

• Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage both technical teams and senior stakeholders
• Highly organised, detail-oriented, and able to manage competing priorities
• Proactive, self-starter mindset with the ability to operate in a fast-paced environment
