Financial Accountant - Growing Organisation

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Financial Accountant to take ownership of external and internal reporting, governance, and technical accounting across a complex, multi entity business.

This is a senior finance role with responsibility for group reporting, statutory accounts, tax compliance, and technical accounting standards, while acting as a subject matter expert to the wider finance team. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring strong financial control, regulatory compliance, and high quality reporting to senior stakeholders.

The Role
Key Responsibilities

• Lead the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual group reporting submissions, including KPI reporting.•    Deliver group reporting under IFRS and ensure consistency with accounting policies.
• Prepare completion accounts for acquired businesses.
• Act as the technical accounting subject expert, supporting the wider finance team on standards and policy interpretation.
• Own statutory reporting requirements, including year end accounts and audit support.
• Prepare quarterly and annual corporation tax calculations and submissions.
• Maintain a robust tax risk register.
• Manage R&D tax credit claims and capital allowance reviews.
• Prepare indirect tax returns, including VAT and other sector specific duties.
• Support the annual budgeting process, with particular focus on group reporting requirements.
• Ensure strong governance, risk management, and control frameworks are in place.
• Produce group level KPI and performance reports.
• Build effective working relationships with senior leaders and cross functional teams.
• Support, guide, and mentor finance colleagues as required.
• Contribute to finance transformation and process improvement initiatives.
• Support key finance projects across the business where needed.

Requirements

• Qualified accountant 
• Strong experience in statutory reporting, group reporting, and technical accounting.
• Solid knowledge of UK tax, VAT, and regulatory reporting.
• Confident communicator with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
• Detail driven, commercially aware, and comfortable managing complexity.
• Proactive mindset with a focus on governance, risk, and continuous improvement.
