This is an opportunity to join a small, friendly, owner-managed accountancy practice in Rochdale, working directly alongside the owner of the firm.

The role would suit someone who enjoys the variety of practice work but wants to be in an environment where they are trusted, respected and given the autonomy to manage their day properly.

There is no corporate feel, no unnecessary pressure and no office politics. This is simply a friendly, well-run firm where people are treated properly, clients are looked after well, and the work still matters.

The Role

You will support a portfolio of owner-managed business clients, taking responsibility for a broad mix of work including:

• Bookkeeping
• VAT returns
• Year-end accounts
• Client queries
• Day-to-day client support
• Building strong, long-term relationships with clients
• Supporting the owner with wider practice work

You will be given the trust and autonomy to manage your workload without someone constantly looking over your shoulder. The owner is there to support you, but this is not a micro-managed environment.

The Person

• The firm is looking for someone with previous experience in accountancy practice who is comfortable working with small business clients.
• You may be AAT qualified, part-qualified, qualified by experience, or simply someone who has built up solid hands-on experience in practice.
• You should be comfortable with bookkeeping, VAT and accounts preparation, and enjoy dealing directly with clients.
• Most importantly, you will be someone who takes pride in doing a good job, enjoys being trusted to get on with things, and wants to work somewhere friendly, steady and respectful.
