Robert Half is partnering with a well established organisation within the manufacturing sector in appointing an experienced Cost Accountant on an interim basis. This role plays a key part in ensuring accurate costing, strong financial controls and insightful reporting across manufacturing operations.

This is an excellent opportunity for a hands on accountant who enjoys working closely with operations, driving process improvements, and supporting commercial decision making.

6 month interim - opportunity for a permanent role.

• Lead product costing activities, ensuring accurate standard costs and recipe data for manufacturing and tolling operations.
• Perform weekly activities including:
• Process order settlement.
• Manufacturing variance analysis with clear commentary.
• Purchase Price Variance (PPV) reporting.
• Deliver analysis of actual vs standard costs, highlighting key variances and business drivers.
• Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations in line with SOX.
• Produce monthly plant financials, including performance vs forecast and actionable insights.
• Support annual budgeting.
• Contribute to process improvements across costing, controls, and reporting.
• Handle costing queries and support external audit requirements.

• CIMA qualified or QBE.
• Strong cost accounting experience within a manufacturing environment (essential).
• Proven track record of working with standard costing, variance analysis, and inventory accounting.
• Advanced Excel skills and strong systems experience.
• Proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.
