Credit Controller

Location: Worthing

Salary: £28-30,000 DOE

Are you a Credit Controller who thrives on variety and isn’t afraid to switch between hats? One minute you’re speaking with tenants, the next you’re liaising with landlords or chasing arrears - if that sounds like your kind of day, keep reading.

We’re working with a well-established and growing estate agency looking for a confident and proactive Credit Controller to join their finance team. This is a fast-paced, people-facing role where your communication skills are just as important as your numbers.

The Role

As Credit Controller, you’ll be responsible for managing a mixed ledger within an estate agency environment meaning you’ll be balancing both Tenants and Landlords.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Chasing arrears across tenant accounts in a professional and empathetic manner
  • Liaising with landlords regarding outstanding balances and account updates
  • Managing a portfolio of accounts, ensuring timely collections and reducing aged debt
  • Identifying process improvements and efficiencies, with a keen eye for detail to ensure accuracy across accounts
  • Handling high volumes of calls and emails, confidently “flipping” between different stakeholders
  • Resolving queries efficiently to avoid delays in payment
  • Maintaining accurate records and updating internal systems
  • Supporting the finance function with ad hoc finance tasks as required

About You

We’re looking for someone who is as comfortable on the phone as they are working through a ledger.

You’ll ideally have:

  • Proven experience in credit control across both B2B and B2C environments
  • Strong communication skills — able to handle sensitive conversations whilst maintaining relationships
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities in a busy setting
  • A proactive approach with strong problem-solving skills
  • Confidence working with a range of stakeholders (tenants, landlords, internal teams)
  • Experience within property or estate agency would be a bonus, but not essential

What’s on Offer

  • 29 days holiday
  • Cycle to Work Scheme
  • Employee rewards scheme offering savings across a wide range of brands and retailers
  • Opportunity to work in a dynamic, growing business where no two days are the same

If you’re a relationship-led Credit Controller who enjoys a role with real variety (and a little controlled chaos), this could be a great fit.
