I am delighted to be working with a large and impactful not-for-profit organisation with an annual turnover in excess of £100 million. They are seeking an experienced and commercially minded finance leader to join as Head of Financial Planning & Analysis on a 14-month fixed-term contract to cover a period of change and strategic development.
The Role
Reporting to the Finance Director, the Head of FP&A will lead the organisation's financial planning, budgeting, forecasting and performance reporting processes. You will provide strategic financial insight to senior leadership, enabling informed decision-making and supporting the delivery of our long-term objectives.
This is a highly visible role requiring strong leadership, analytical capability and experience operating within complex not-for-profit organisations.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the annual budgeting and reforecasting processes across the organisation.
  • Develop and enhance long-term financial planning models.
  • Deliver insightful management reporting, KPI analysis and board presentations.
  • Partner with Executive Directors and budget holders to provide strategic financial support.
  • Analyse financial performance and identify trends, risks and opportunities.
  • Drive improvements in FP&A processes, systems and reporting tools.
  • Support business cases, investment appraisals and scenario planning.
  • Manage and develop a small FP&A team.
Candidate Profile
We are looking for a qualified finance professional with a proven track record in financial planning and analysis within large, complex organisations.
Essential Requirements
  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
  • Significant experience in a senior FP&A role.
  • Previous experience within a not-for-profit organisation with turnover exceeding £100 million.
  • Strong financial modelling and analytical skills.
  • Experience presenting to senior stakeholders and boards.
  • Excellent business partnering and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to lead teams and drive process improvements.
Desirable
  • Experience working in organisations undergoing transformation or change.
  • Familiarity with ERP and financial planning systems.
