A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a proactive and detail oriented Junior Commercial Assistant to join a fast paced business within the FMCG sector. This varied role will focus on gathering, analysing and presenting UK grocery market data relating to fresh produce, supporting commercial performance and customer insight.

Reporting to the Customer Account Manager, this position would suit either a recent graduate or someone with previous commercial or FMCG experience looking to develop their career within a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct grocery market research through national store visits, recording and collating supermarket range data
  • Prepare GAP analysis reports on UK grocery market activity
  • Monitor industry trends, competitor activity and product developments to identify opportunities
  • Process and update customer orders using internal systems
  • Monitor customer stock availability and request order increases where required
  • Create and maintain reports using ERP systems
  • Support the Commercial team with ad hoc projects and initiatives
  • Liaise with customers to resolve order related queries and issues
  • Provide regular reporting and commercial insights to support sales performance
  • Identify opportunities to improve margin and profitability
About You
  • Previous experience within a commercial environment or a graduate with an interest in FMCG
  • Full UK driving licence with willingness to travel nationally
  • Proactive and self motivated approach
  • Comfortable working in a fast paced and evolving environment
Skills Required
  • Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines
  • Strong communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office including Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills

Salary and Benefits
  • Full time permanent position
  • Salary between 27000 and 29000 per annum
  • 40 hour working week
  • Five days per week including weekend rota cover where required
  • 28 days annual leave including Bank Holidays
  • Additional annual leave based on length of service
