An established same-day and time-critical courier business is seeking a Transport / Operations Supervisor to support its growing operation. With over 11 years of proven success across the UK and Europe, the company delivers bespoke transport solutions to blue-chip, tech, manufacturing and major event clients, including high-profile organisations and internationally recognised events. This role is ideal for a proactive supervisor with strong transport knowledge, excellent communication skills and a passion for delivering outstanding service in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment.

Same Day & Time-Critical Logistics

Location: Heathrow (UB7) – must live within 30 minutes
Salary: £30,000 – £40,000 DOE + bonus
Hours: 42.5 hours per week | Start between 6am–7am
(Flexibility required to cover later shifts during holidays)

The Role

We are looking for an experienced Transport / Operations Supervisor (title flexible) to take ownership of a live, fast-paced same-day and time-critical transport operation based near Heathrow.

This is a senior, hands-on role suited to someone who thrives under pressure, understands urgency instinctively, and can run a live transport desk in real time without supervision. You will be involved directly in day-to-day operations, supporting planners and operators, managing escalations, and making confident decisions that keep freight moving.

This is not a desk-only management role. We need someone who leads from the front and wants to be part of the operation.

Working Hours

• Core start time: 6am–7am
• Operation runs across three shifts:
  
  • 6am–7am start
  • 9am start
  • 10am–11am start
• Flexibility is required to cover later shifts when required (e.g. holidays)

What We’re Looking For

This role is only suitable for candidates with proven experience in time-pressured, same-day road freight environments.

Essential Experience & Skills

• 5+ years’ experience in same-day courier, time-critical transport, dedicated road freight, air freight, or AOG
• Previous experience operating at senior, supervisory, or management level
• Proven ability to run a live transport desk independently
• Confident making fast, correct decisions under pressure
• Deep understanding of:
  
  • Vehicles and capabilities
  • Routing and load planning
  • Urgency and priority management
• Able to step straight into live operations from day one
