We are currently recruiting a Warehouse Operative to join a busy and supportive warehouse and production environment in Kendal

The Role

As a Warehouse Operative, you will play a key role in supporting daily warehouse and production activities. A typical day may begin by checking priorities with the D&W Supervisor, including what deliveries are arriving, urgent production requirements, and day-to-day deadlines.

A significant portion of the role will involve Goods In, where you will:

  • Receive deliveries from suppliers
  • Unload, check, and inspect items against delivery notes
  • Book purchase orders into the ERP system (IFS)
  • Report and escalate any damaged goods or shortages

You will also be required to:

  • Pick and gather parts for machining and assembly
  • Communicate with colleagues across the shop floor to resolve urgent or missing items
  • Process customer orders, including picking, packing, and preparing goods for dispatch
  • Book stock in and out of the ERP system (IFS)
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment

Skills & Experience

To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:

  • Strong attention to detail for accurate picking and stock checks
  • Basic IT and computer skills for inventory systems
  • Previous warehouse, manufacturing, or industrial experience (beneficial but not essential)
  • Ability to follow instructions and work methodically
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Physical fitness for manual handling and standing for long periods
  • A positive, reliable attitude and the ability to work well under pressure

Working Hours

  • Monday – Thursday: 07:45 – 16:30
  • Friday: 08:00 – 12:30
  • Breaks: 30-minute unpaid break each day
