Our Client
Our client is a private, family-owned B2B manufacturing business based near Yeovil. They are looking to recruit a proactive and detail-oriented Accountant into their team. This is a broad, hands-on role offering exposure across the full finance function and would suit a newly qualified accountant, a part-qualified accountant at final stage, or someone qualified by experience who is looking to step into a varied and commercially relevant position.
Qualified Accountant – The Role
You will play a key role in delivering accurate financial reporting, supporting business decision-making and maintaining strong financial controls across the organisation.
Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will work closely with colleagues across the business and will be involved in a wide range of finance activities, from month-end reporting and balance sheet reconciliations through to ad hoc analysis and process improvement.

Key responsibilities will include:
· Preparation of timely and accurate monthly management accounts;
· Ownership of month-end processes, including balance sheet reconciliations and supporting schedules;
· Supporting the trainee accountant with sales ledger and credit control functions to ensure strong cash flow and aged debt management;
· Providing insightful ad hoc analysis to support operational and strategic decision-making;
· Building effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders;
· Contributing to the continuous improvement of processes, controls and reporting within the finance function;
· Supporting wider head office functions with financial information and guidance as required.
The Successful Applicant
The successful applicant will be part-qualified at final stage, newly qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA, or qualified by experience. You will be comfortable working in a hands-on finance role and will bring a proactive, organised and detail-oriented approach.
Ideally you will demonstrate:
· Strong Excel skills, with the ability to analyse and interpret data effectively;
· Experience working within an SME environment;
· A high level of accuracy and attention to detail;
· Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines;
· A proactive and self-motivated approach, with a willingness to take ownership;
· Strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships across the business;
· A collaborative team-player attitude with a positive, can-do mindset.
