Manta Maritime is an established and distinguished Southampton-based provider of superyacht management and consulting services, serving pre-eminent clients all over the world.

Due to our expansion we are seeking an experienced and highly-motivated Financial Controller to play a pivotal role in safeguarding the financial integrity of our company, as well as evolving the yacht accounting team.

Key responsibilities:Financial reporting & compliance
  • Oversee all reported financial results, ensuring accuracy and integrity;
  • Maintain accounting records in line with current standards and statutory requirements;
  • Lead the production of monthly accounts for the managed yachts, including clear written commentary;
  • Prepare annual operating budgets for the managed yachts, working in close so-operation with the owner’s offices;
  • Prepare quarterly company monthly management accounts;
  • Company year-end accounts support and preparation
  • Monitor the performance of our banking partners, and continually evaluating if our needs could be better met by others.
Treasury & cashflow management
  • Manage yachts’ treasury function, including cashflow reporting and forecasting;
  • Set and enforce robust procurement controls with the managed yachts.
Leadership & team management
  • Provide day-to-day leadership, coaching and development to the yacht accounting team;
  • Foster a high-performance culture with clear standards and professional support.
Business partnering
  • Partner closely with members of the yacht owners’ offices on budgets, financial reporting, purchasing enquiries, and other accounting matters;
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with our banking partners;
  • Partner with the company’s Directors to support business growth and profitability.
Essential skills & experience
  • Fully or part qualified accountant (CIMA (preferred) / ACCA / ACA or equivalent), with at least 3 years practical experience;
  • Proven experience in a UHNW environment or family office experience;
  • Compliance experience (VAT/Payroll);
  • Strong IT skills, including Excel and Xero;
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy;
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
  • Able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively;
  • Capable of working independently;
  • Strong experience working with banking institutions and managing financial facilities;
  • Experience coordinating with external accountants and auditors.
