Criminal Lawyer / Duty Solicitor

Location: Dudley

Hours: Full-time (including out-of-hours/weekend rota). Part-time applicants also welcome.

About the Opportunity

A long-standing, well-respected law firm is seeking a Criminal Lawyer to strengthen its Criminal Defence team. This position is open to:

• Qualified solicitors able to take on responsibility quickly, or
• Newly/nearly qualified candidates eager to develop and work towards Duty Solicitor accreditation.

Full training and mentoring will be provided where required.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a varied caseload of criminal defence matters
• Attend police stations and magistrates’ courts
• Conduct advocacy in bail hearings, case management, and trials
• Take part in the Duty Solicitor Rota (including evenings and weekends)
• Deliver clear, high-quality advice and support to clients

Candidate Profile

You will be a great fit if you:

• Are a qualified solicitor with Duty Solicitor accreditation, or close to qualification and motivated to achieve it
• Have experience or interest in police station work and advocacy
• Demonstrate strong litigation and communication skills
• Work well independently and collaboratively
• Have a passion for delivering excellent client care
