A highly regarded specialist claimant practice in Sheffield is looking to recruit a newly qualified solicitor or junior solicitor to join its expanding Clinical Negligence team.
Known for its strong reputation in claimant litigation, the firm has built a respected presence across Yorkshire through its commitment to exceptional client care, high-quality legal work, and the ongoing development of its people. This opportunity would suit an ambitious junior lawyer seeking to establish a long-term career within clinical negligence in a supportive and collaborative environment.

The Opportunity


Joining a busy and growing department, you will gain exposure to a broad range of claimant clinical negligence matters from the outset. The role offers a genuine opportunity to develop specialist expertise while working closely with experienced practitioners on both straightforward and complex claims.
Key responsibilities will include:

  • Handling a caseload of lower-value clinical negligence files under supervision
  • Assisting senior solicitors with complex and high-value matters
  • Reviewing medical records and analysing evidence
  • Drafting legal correspondence, court documents, and letters of claim
  • Liaising with medical experts and reviewing expert reports
  • Supporting liability investigations and settlement negotiations
  • Providing clear, empathetic, and professional advice to clients throughout the claims process


This position offers structured mentoring and ongoing training, alongside the chance to take on increasing levels of responsibility as your experience develops.

Candidate Profile


Applications are welcomed from solicitors who are recently qualified or have up to 1 year's PQE, ideally with previous exposure to clinical negligence or personal injury matters during training.
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
