Contracts Manager
Salary: Circa £45,000 per annum + Vehicle Allowance
Location: Chester with projects across the North West, North Wales, Wrexham & Wirral
Contract: Full-time, Permanent
The Opportunity
An established construction business is looking to appoint an experienced Contracts Manager to oversee multiple live projects across the region. This is a key leadership role, suited to someone who is confident managing projects from pre-start through to handover, while maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and client satisfaction.
You will play a central part in coordinating teams, managing subcontractors, and ensuring projects are delivered on time and within agreed commercial parameters.
Key Responsibilities
- End-to-End Contract Management
Overseeing multiple construction contracts from mobilisation to completion, including new build and refurbishment works. - Project Coordination
Working closely with Project Managers and site teams to ensure programmes are met and delivery standards are maintained. - Commercial Oversight
Monitoring contract performance, overseeing budgets, approving variations and managing cost control throughout each project. - Client & Stakeholder Liaison
Acting as a senior point of contact for clients, consultants, and internal teams, helping to build long-term working relationships. - Health, Safety & Compliance
Ensuring all projects are delivered in line with current H&S legislation, contractual obligations, and industry best practice. - Contract Administration
Managing changes, extensions of time, and contractual correspondence where required.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:
- Proven experience operating as a Contracts Manager within the construction sector
- Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to manage multiple site teams and subcontractors
- Excellent organisational and communication skills, with a solution-focused approach
- Sound understanding of construction contracts, regulations, and compliance requirements
- Strong IT capability, particularly with Microsoft Word and Excel
- SMSTS and CSCS qualifications (or equivalent) are highly desirable
- A full UK driving licence is essential
