Management Accountant

The Role

We're working with an exciting global payments business to recruit a Management Accountant to join their growing finance team. This role plays a key part in month-end reporting, balance sheet ownership, process improvement, and business partnering across the group.

You'll take ownership of UK entities, working within an international finance function and collaborating closely with stakeholders across operations, treasury, FP&A, and financial operations. This is a hands-on role that blends strong technical accounting with real commercial and operational exposure.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Accounting & Reporting

• Post journal entries to the general ledger and control month-end close
• Own centralised month-end processes
• Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations
• Analyse and explain P&L and balance sheet movements
• Produce and support financial slides for Group month-end close presentations
• Respond to audit queries and support the year-end audit process
• Partner with stakeholders to ensure high-quality financial postings
• Continuously improve finance processes and controls

Accounts Payable & Financial Operations

• Support bi-weekly payment runs and NetSuite reconciliations
• Reconcile creditor balances and bank statements
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies and misallocations
• Ensure accurate VAT treatment, including partial exemption VAT
• Post monthly intercompany recharges
• Prepare ad hoc financial reports
• Adhere to controls while driving process improvements

Person Specification

• Qualified accountant (ACCA/ ACA/ CA)
• 1-3 years' post-qualified experience
• Strong knowledge of UK & Irish GAAP and IFRS
• Solid grounding in management accounting, financial operations, and VAT
• Advanced Excel / spreadsheet capability
• Experience working with a large ERP system (NetSuite, SAP, Oracle etc.)

Desirable

• Exposure to automation or finance transformation initiatives
• Background in fintech, payments, or financial services
• Experience in a high-growth or international business
• International tax exposure
• Functional NetSuite experience
