Bookkeeper

Location: Bury

Salary: £28,000 – £30,000 (dependent on experience)

Hours: Monday to Friday, flexible start/finish between 8:00am – 5:00pm

Are you a detail-oriented Bookkeeper seeking a fresh challenge? Do you thrive in a client-facing role where no two days are the same?

Due to ongoing business growth, my client is looking to appoint a capable and proactive Bookkeeper to join their established team in Bury. This position will see you taking ownership of a varied portfolio of clients, ensuring all financial records are maintained with accuracy and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities:

• Overseeing purchase and sales ledgers, including the preparation and posting of invoices using Sage and Xero
• Managing sales and purchase order processing
• Completing bank reconciliations on a regular basis
• Preparing and submitting VAT returns in line with HMRC requirements
• Working to strict deadlines and maintaining compliance standards
• Handling multi-currency transactions, multiple bank accounts, and CIS processes (advantageous)
• Assisting with accounts preparation to trial balance stage (desirable)
• Maintaining organised financial records and supporting general office/accounting tasks

About You:

• AAT qualified (or equivalent experience)
• At least 3 years’ experience in a similar bookkeeping role
• Highly organised with strong attention to detail
• Comfortable managing multiple client accounts simultaneously
• Confident communicator with a professional and approachable manner
• Experienced in using Sage and/or Xero
