Finance Assistant (Credit Control)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Junior Credit Controller to join a successful and fast-paced business based on the outskirts of Birmingham. This role is ideal for someone at the beginning of their finance career - whether you’re a recent graduate, have 1-2 years’ finance experience, or are looking to build a long-term career in Credit Control.

Joining a supportive and collaborative finance team, you’ll receive full training and development while gaining hands-on experience in a busy finance environment. This is a fantastic opportunity to learn, grow, and make a real impact within a growing business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supporting the management of customer accounts and outstanding payments
  • Chasing overdue invoices via phone and email in a professional manner
  • Building positive relationships with customers and helping resolve account queries
  • Allocating cash and assisting with account reconciliations
  • Producing aged debt reports and supporting the wider finance team
  • Assisting with month-end finance processes
Key Requirements
  • Interest in pursuing a career within Credit Control or Finance
  • Graduate calibre or 1–2 years’ experience within an office or finance environment
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Good attention to detail and organisational ability
  • Confident using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • Positive, proactive attitude with a willingness to learn
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
